The role
We are looking to bring on board an enthusiastic addition, with 4+ years’ experience, to our Public Affairs team. You will be a UK public policy and regulation specialist. You may have experience working in Government, at a think tank, political party, trade body, charity or in Parliament. The Associate Director will lead on policy development, delivering cutting edge insight and expertise for our clients.
You will be adept at leading on a range of tasks and projects which might include:
- Leading on policy development
- Working with a team of researchers and policy analysts to produce detailed pieces of original research and analysis
- Taking on project management responsibilities, ensuring a high standard of work for client programmes and helping to manage client relationships
- Effectively managing teams to deliver against tight deadlines and supporting the development of junior colleagues
- Assisting the firm’s Partners in spotting opportunities to develop and grow the business, and contributing ideas and taking part in pitches for new clients.
The ideal candidate profile:
- Strong political insight and intuition with a shrewd understanding of the UK political and regulatory landscape
- Possesses an analytical mind with first class verbal and written communications skills. Expected to absorb and assess technical policy documents and other source materials, creating crisp summary copy and recommendations
- Substantial experience as a policymaker
- Dedicated to producing high quality work and going the extra mile in a fast paced environment
- Has excellent interpersonal skills to encourage respectful debate and is not afraid to take risks
- Is not afraid to break new ground and find new ways to solve old problems
- Enjoy working with people with a diverse range of backgrounds and opinions.
